Finland 0-2 Belgium: Lukaku on target as Red Devils top Group B

Belgium ran out clear winners of Group B at Euro 2020 after Romelu Lukaku scored in a 2-0 victory over Finland, who are still in with a chance of reaching the last 16 after finishing third.

Finland goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky was the game s outstanding player before he scored a calamitous own goal in the 74th minute, with the superb Lukaku then netting his third goal of the tournament seven minutes later.

The Red Devils delivered another performance befitting their billing as one of the favourites, progressing to the knockout stages having scored seven goals in three group matches.

Markku Kanerva s Finland team battled hard in defence but offered little by way of a goal threat, mustering just one shot on target during the contest.

AC Milan interested in Dalot

According to a recent report from Sky Italy, AC Milan are interested in trying to sign Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot.

Dalot was once considered to be an exciting prospect but after starting just one game during the 2019/20 season, it does appear as if his time at Old Trafford is starting to come to an end. Milan have been hoping to have a busy summer transfer window and while they ve made some noise, it would definitely cause an even bigger stir if they can lure Dalot over to the San Siro.

Dalot, 21, has the potential to do some big things in football but he hasn t quite been able to showcase that in the Premier League just yet. United may consider a loan deal of some kind but even if that s off the table, you d have to think a permanent move could still be on …

Bitesize Prediction: Watford vs Leeds – 29/03/24

Market: Leeds win

Odds: 2/3 @

Desperate to widen their buffer in the automatic promotion chase, Leeds will travel to Vicarage Road on Friday night when they meet Watford.

Starting with the hosts, making the shock decision to appoint ex-Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley as their new interim boss earlier in the month, Watford have continued to show a string of issues this season. While the Hornets might have entered March’s international break with a 1-0 victory away at Birmingham, they have recorded just a pair of wins from any of their previous 13 straight appearances across all competitions a run that stems all the way back to January 14th. Facing what will certainly be a heavyweight challenge this weekend, Watford have continued to gain a reputation…

Champions League Group E preview: Chelsea right at home

Chelsea can improve their already dominant position in Champions League Group E when they host lowly Genk in London on Wednesday.

The Blues have not lost a European group stage clash at Stamford Bridge in eight years, and the Belgian First Division champions would need a miracle to take all three points in their first fixture against English opposition in the tournament.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has a positive recent history with Genk, having led former team Porto to a 7-2 aggregate defeat of the Belgian outfit in the Europa League playoff round last season.

The Londoners are also fresh off a drought-breaking 3-1 win in the Premier League over Everton a side they had not conquered since the FA Cup final in 2009.

Genk, meanwhile, have lost their …

Messi still waiting for Pele´s package

Lionel Messi says he is still waiting for a DVD with highlights of Pele s career that the Brazilian legend recently promised him.

Pele said he would send footage of his best moments to Messi after the Argentine revealed he had never seen him in action, but the man widely regarded as the best player in the world is still awaiting the arrival of the package.

I would love to see Pele in action, but he still hasn t sent me the DVD of his goals, Messi told France Football.

Everyone says he was an extraordinary player, but I can t form an opinion without having seen him play.

While some observers say Messi could be even better than Pele or Argentine wizard Diego Maradona, the Barcelona star said his first priority is winning more trophies for his club.

Borussia Dortmund want Maxwel Cornet as Ousmane Dembele replacement

The German giants Borussia Dortmund seem to have made peace with the fact Ousmane Dembele is leaving the club during the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old French forward has been visibly frustrated at club ever since Spanish club expressed interest in signing him and Dembele appears to have set his heart on a Barca move despite Dortmund’s effort to keep him.

The latest reports, however, claim that Bundesliga heavyweights are ready to negotiate a potential summer transfer, whereas Kicker also suggest that a replacement for Dembele has already been identified.

Dortmund want to sign Olympique Lyon 20-year-old starlet Maxwel Cornet, who is under contract with the French outfit until 2021.

Cornet’s market value is set at €10 million, but Lyon are…

Saint-Etienne did not try to play football – Blanc

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc insisted his team deserved to win on Sunday as his team was the only one that tried to play football .

It may have taken a dubious penalty to secure victory but Paris Saint-Germain were good value for their 1-0 win against Saint-Etienne on Sunday, according to their coach Laurent Blanc.

In a tight Ligue 1 contest between third-placed PSG and the fourth-placed hosts at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Saint-Etienne midfielder Jeremy Clement was judged to have handled the ball in the penalty area just before the hour mark.

Clement, who played five seasons for PSG before joining Saint-Etienne in 2011, came off the goalline to collect Thiago Silva s header from a corner and, although the ball appeared to strike the point of his sho…

BATE 2 Arsenal 4: Giroud joins 100 club in Europa League stroll

Arsenal made it two wins from two in the Europa League with a 4-2 victory away to BATE on Thursday.

Two goals from Theo Walcott, Rob Holding s first goal for the club and Olivier Giroud s 100th gave Arsene Wenger s side all three points in Belarus.

The Gunners boss stuck to his promise to hand his squad players the chance to impress, with Jack Wilshere involved, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson starting at wing-back and midfielder Joe Willock given a place in the senior starting line-up for the first time.

Wilshere was especially effective early on and set up Walcott to prod in the opener before the forward capitalised on a goalkeeper howler to double the visitors lead.

Holding converted from point-blank range before Mirko Ivanic got a goal back i…

Werner in RB Leipzig squad for Borussia Dortmund trip

RB Leipzig star Timo Werner is in contention to play against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday after recovering from a cervical spine blockage, according to coach Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The young striker asked to be withdrawn 32 minutes into Leipzig s Champions League defeat to Besiktas on September 26 after appearing to struggle with the noise of the crowd.

Hasenhuttl then revealed after the match that Werner was suffering from breathing and circulation problems, which were ultimately put down to the cervical spine blockage.

Werner missed Germany s recent internationals as a result, but Leipzig have been handed a major boost ahead of what will likely be one of their toughest fixtures of the season.

Good news! Head coach Ralph confirms that will be in the squa…
