Dortmund ´the finish line´ as Flick ignores Bayern talk

Hansi Flick has reiterated his stance regarding the future at Bayern Munich, determined only to concern himself with the finish line against Borussia Dortmund.

Flick has taken over at Bayern in a caretaker capacity since Niko Kovac s sacking, having previously served as assistant coach.

The 54-year-old s first game in charge saw the Bundesliga champions defeat Olympiacos in the Champions League in midweek, but he faces a mammoth fixture this weekend.

Bayern, fourth in the Bundesliga and four points off the top, host second-placed Dortmund on Saturday.

As Flick explained following Bayern s European win, the upcoming match can be his only concern despite the continued wait for the appointment of a new coach potentially impacting his role at the club.

FA charges Stevenage boss Steve Evans for failing to comply with touchline ban

Stevenage boss Steve Evans has been charged by the Football Association for failing to comply with a touchline ban.

An FA spokesperson said on the governing body’s official X – formerly Twitter – account: “Stevenage’s Steve Evans has been charged for allegedly failing to comply with the terms of an automatic touchline suspension.

Milan 0-3 Lille: Ibrahimovic subbed off as Yazici hat-trick halts Rossoneri´s unbeaten start

Milan s unbeaten run came to a shuddering halt after 11 games as Yusuf Yazici s hat-trick secured an emphatic 3-0 victory for Lille in the Europa League.

Inspired by the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic – who already has eight goals to his name – Stefano Pioli s side have made a wonderful start to 2020-21.

But Ibrahimovic, who was subbed off in the 62nd minute, failed to lift the Rossoneri in a dismal showing at San Siro, with Yazici running the show.

The 23-year-old Turkey international opened the scoring from the spot 21 minutes in, before becoming the first player to score a hat-trick against Milan in all competitions since Rivaldo in October 2000 with quickfire strikes early in the second half to move Lille one point clear at the top of Group H.

De Bruyne misses Man City training ahead of Dinamo Zagreb game

Kevin De Bruyne missed training with Manchester City ahead of Tuesday s Champions League home game against Dinamo Zagreb.

De Bruyne was substituted during the closing stages of Saturday s 3-1 Premier League win at Everton, when he appeared to be discomforted by a groin issue.

The Belgium international did not take part in the section of City s pre-match training session that was open to the media on Monday.

De Bruyne has recorded eight Premier League assists this season, twice as many as any other player.

8 Kevin De Bruyne has provided eight assists in the Premier League already this season only Cesc Fabregas in 2009-10 has provided as many in his side s first seven games in a single campaign. God.

MLS Cup play-offs: Timbers will host first final after beating RSL

Portland Timbers will host the MLS Cup final for the first time in their history after conquering Real Salt Lake 2-0 on Saturday.

Felipe Mora and Santiago Moreno were both on target as 2015 MLS champions the Timbers advanced to the showpiece for the third time.

The Timbers will face either New York City or Philadelphia Union in the December 11 final.

Portland made the perfect start to the Western Conference decider when Mora was on hand to fire his deflected shot past David Ochoa after five minutes.

RSL – who were looking to become the first team in MLS history to reach the final without playing a home play-off fixture – had a golden chance to equalise just past the half-hour mark but Damir Kreilach s header was somehow saved by Steve Clark.

´We would like to extend his stay here´ – Leicester boss Rodgers hopeful over Vardy deal

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed on Thursday that the club is working on a contract extension for 35-year-old Foxes icon Jamie Vardy.

Vardy arrived at Leicester back in 2012 and has since racked up 164 goals in 386 appearances for the club. Only Arthur Chandler (273 goals), who played from 1923-35, and Arthur Rowley (251 goals from 1950-58) have scored more for Leicester.

The former England striker has now registered seven consecutive Premier League seasons with at least 13 goals.

Vardy is in the final year of his contract, but Foxes boss Rodgers is optimistic he will sign another deal.

[Vardy s] appetite is still there, he said. We would like to extend his stay here and that s something the club and his representatives will look at.

Tottenham complete signing of Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario

Tottenham have completed the signing of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.

Spurs had been searching for a long-term successor for captain Hugo Lloris, who is approaching the final 12 months of his deal and made clear his desire for a new challenge earlier this month.

While discussions took place with Brentford number one David Raya over a potential move across London, his £40million price tag saw Tottenham turn their attention elsewhere.

Vicario had long been tracked by the club as a candidate for Lloris and he has now become new boss Ange Postecoglou’s second signing.

The Italian, who has been called up to various national team camps, has signed a five-year deal at Tottenham in a move reported to be worth 19million euros (£16.4m).

Bale ´likely´ to return to English football as agent confirms Madrid exit

Gareth Bale could be set for a return to English football when his Real Madrid contract expires next month, according to his agent Jonathan Barnett, who has confirmed the winger s imminent exit from the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 32-year-old already looked set to leave Los Blancos at the end of his deal, with Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti saying last month that Bale wanted to finish on a high note with the club.

While Madrid wrapped up their 35th league title recently, Bale s role in that success was virtually none-existent, with the former Tottenham man making just seven appearances all season in all competitions, totalling just 290 minutes of action.

Bale has won four Champions League titles during his nine-year spell in the Spanish capital, scoring three goals in f…
